Places that helped me after losing my job after 17 years as a hotel front-desk agent

I want to share what helped me after being laid off as a hotel front-desk agent in Hartford. There are 17 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. The library had résumé help and free computer time. What else is out there?

I found free tax help through a community volunteer programme. It saved me a fee.
