Phone and internet help for people out of work - what worked for you?

I am worried about keeping my phone and internet on during my search. Any experience at all would help. Employers call and email constantly. What did you switch to?

Libraries lend Wi-Fi hotspots in some towns. Mine lent one for three weeks.
