Phone and internet help for people out of work - what worked for you?

I use my phone as my only connection. This is my first time dealing with any of this. Employers call and email constantly.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.

Libraries lend Wi-Fi hotspots in some towns. Mine lent one for three weeks.
