Phone and internet help for people out of work (update)

My home internet costs more than I can manage on unemployment. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I heard of low-cost plans for people with limited income. What else should I consider?

Libraries lend Wi-Fi hotspots in some towns. Mine lent one for three weeks.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
