I use my phone as my only connection. I am in Albuquerque, in case local advice matters. I heard of low-cost plans for people with limited income. Did you qualify for any programmes?

Ask your internet provider about their low-income plan. They rarely advertise it.

Libraries lend Wi-Fi hotspots in some towns. Mine lent one for three weeks.
