Phone and internet help for people out of work

I am worried about keeping my phone and internet on during my search. I am in Wichita, in case local advice matters. I heard of low-cost plans for people with limited income. What else should I consider?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 14 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
