Phone and internet help for people out of work - any advice?

My home internet costs more than I can manage on unemployment. It has been a long 10 weeks. I heard of low-cost plans for people with limited income. Did you qualify for any programmes?

I switched to a low-cost plan through my carrier and cut my bill by almost half.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 9 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
