Phone and internet help for people out of work after 8 years as a web developer

I use my phone as my only connection. There are 8 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. Some applications need a computer. What did you switch to?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
