Phone and internet help for people out of work after 6 years as an insurance claims processor

I use my phone as my only connection. I worked as an insurance claims processor before this. Employers call and email constantly. What else should I consider?

Libraries lend Wi-Fi hotspots in some towns. Mine lent one for three weeks.
