Phone and internet help for people out of work after 14 years as a call-centre agent

I am worried about keeping my phone and internet on during my search. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I heard of low-cost plans for people with limited income. What else should I consider?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
