Phone and internet help for people out of work

My home internet costs more than I can manage on unemployment. Any experience at all would help. Employers call and email constantly. What else should I consider?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 4 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

Libraries lend Wi-Fi hotspots in some towns. Mine lent one for three weeks.
