Phone and internet help for people out of work - 9 months and counting

My home internet costs more than I can manage on unemployment. I worked as a software tester before this. Employers call and email constantly. What else should I consider?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
