Mental health while out of work, teaching assistant here

I am trying to look after my mental health while I search. There are 7 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I do not want to pretend I am fine. How do you ask friends for support?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
