Mental health while out of work (St. Louis)

Being out of work for 8 months has worn me down more than I expected. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. Some days I feel numb. How do you ask friends for support?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
