Mental health while out of work - 9 months and counting

Being out of work for 9 months has worn me down more than I expected. I worked as a call-centre agent before this. Some days I feel numb. How do you ask friends for support?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 9 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
