Local services for people out of work in Madison - what worked for you?

I found a few free services in Madison that I did not know about. This is my first time dealing with any of this. A food pantry near me has evening hours. Has anyone used the tax clinics?

Call 211 to hear about local help with food, rent and utilities. It is free and open at all hours.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 7 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
