Local services for people out of work in Detroit - any advice?

A neighbour pointed me to a programme that I wish I had known earlier. It has been a long 18 weeks. The workforce centre ran a weekly job club. Has anyone used the tax clinics?

The job club at my workforce centre introduced me to two people who later referred me.

Call 211 to hear about local help with food, rent and utilities. It is free and open at all hours.
