Local services for people out of work in Chicago - any advice?

A neighbour pointed me to a programme that I wish I had known earlier. It has been a long 26 weeks. The library had résumé help and free computer time.

I found free tax help through a community volunteer programme. It saved me a fee.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
