Local services for people out of work in Charlotte (update)

I want to share what helped me after being laid off as a medical assistant in Charlotte. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. A food pantry near me has evening hours. What else is out there?

I found free tax help through a community volunteer programme. It saved me a fee.
