Keeping my phone on while I search - what worked for you?

I am worried about keeping my phone and internet on during my search. Thank you in advance. I heard of low-cost plans for people with limited income. What else should I consider?

I switched to a low-cost plan through my carrier and cut my bill by almost half.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 6 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
