Keeping my phone on while I search (update)

My home internet costs more than I can manage on unemployment. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I heard of low-cost plans for people with limited income. What else should I consider?

Keep the number you use for job applications, even if you change plans. Employers will call it.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 12 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
