Keeping my phone on while I search - any advice?

I use my phone as my only connection. Thank you in advance. I heard of low-cost plans for people with limited income.

I switched to a low-cost plan through my carrier and cut my bill by almost half.

Libraries lend Wi-Fi hotspots in some towns. Mine lent one for three weeks.
