Keeping my phone on while I search - any advice?

I use my phone as my only connection. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I heard of low-cost plans for people with limited income.

I switched to a low-cost plan through my carrier and cut my bill by almost half.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
