Keeping my phone on while I search after 3 years as a teaching assistant

I am worried about keeping my phone and internet on during my search. Thank you in advance. Some applications need a computer. What else should I consider?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
