Keeping my phone on while I search - 7 weeks in

I am worried about keeping my phone and internet on during my search. Any experience at all would help. Some applications need a computer. What else should I consider?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 7 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
