Just wanted to say thanks - 10 months and counting

I posted here 5 weeks ago when I was panicking about my layoff as a web developer. There are 6 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I feel calmer and more organised now. What would help newcomers most?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
