How do you organise your week after a layoff? (Denver)

Since my layoff as a mechanic I have no real structure. There are 9 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I tried blocking out hours for applications but I lose steam by noon. What helps you switch off?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
