How do you organise your week after a layoff? after 18 years as an electrician's helper

Since my layoff as an electrician's helper I have no real structure. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. Some days I do nothing and feel guilty. How many hours do you really work on the search?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
