How do you organise your week after a layoff? after 17 years as a payroll clerk

Since my layoff as a payroll clerk I have no real structure. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I tried blocking out hours for applications but I lose steam by noon. How many hours do you really work on the search?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
