How do you handle bills on unemployment? - what worked for you?

My income is now a fraction of what it was as a software tester and I am trying to cover the essentials. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I listed needs and wants and cut a few subscriptions. What helped you?

I called each lender and asked for a hardship plan. Two agreed to lower payments for a few months.

Sell things you do not use. I made about $950 from a weekend of listing.
