How do you handle bills on unemployment? - what worked for you?

My income is now a fraction of what it was as a logistics coordinator and I am trying to cover the essentials. This is my first time dealing with any of this. The rent is fixed and the car payment is high. What helped you?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
