How do you handle bills on unemployment? (update)

I am $600 short each month and trying to find it. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. The rent is fixed and the car payment is high. Did lenders work with you?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
