How do you handle bills on unemployment? - any advice?

We are a household of 10 and the budget no longer works. I have been trying to stay organised about it. The rent is fixed and the car payment is high. What helped you?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

I called each lender and asked for a hardship plan. Two agreed to lower payments for a few months.
