How do you handle bills on unemployment? after 7 years as a mechanic

I am $1200 short each month and trying to find it. Any experience at all would help. I listed needs and wants and cut a few subscriptions. What helped you?

Check for energy assistance programmes. I got a credit that covered two bills.
