How do you handle bills on unemployment? after 5 years as a customer-service rep

I am $250 short each month and trying to find it. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. The rent is fixed and the car payment is high. What helped you?

Check for energy assistance programmes. I got a credit that covered two bills.
