How do you handle bills on unemployment? after 11 years as a call-centre agent

My income is now a fraction of what it was as a call-centre agent and I am trying to cover the essentials. The rent is fixed and the car payment is high. Did lenders work with you?

I called each lender and asked for a hardship plan. Two agreed to lower payments for a few months.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 7 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
