How do you handle bills on unemployment?

We are a household of 6 and the budget no longer works. I am in San Diego, in case local advice matters. I listed needs and wants and cut a few subscriptions. Did lenders work with you?

I called each lender and asked for a hardship plan. Two agreed to lower payments for a few months.
