Getting to interviews without a car in Kansas City - any advice?

I do not have a car and interviews in Kansas City are spread around. There are 5 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. Some employers are off the main lines. What do you use?

If you can, schedule interviews back to back in the same area to save fares.
