Getting to interviews without a car in Chicago - what worked for you?

The bus takes almost an hour to reach the places hiring as an electrician's helper. I am in Chicago, in case local advice matters. Some employers are off the main lines.

If you can, schedule interviews back to back in the same area to save fares.

I planned routes the night before with a trip planner and left twenty minutes early.
