Getting to interviews without a car in Birmingham - 9 months and counting

I need a cheap way to get to several appointments. I worked as a dental hygienist before this. Some employers are off the main lines. What do you use?

Some workforce centres hand out bus tokens for interviews. Ask at the desk.
