Free resources I wish I had found sooner - what worked for you?

A neighbour pointed me to a programme that I wish I had known earlier. I am in Charlotte, in case local advice matters. The library had résumé help and free computer time. What else is out there?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 9 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

I found free tax help through a community volunteer programme. It saved me a fee.
