Free resources I wish I had found sooner - what worked for you?

I found a few free services in Chicago that I did not know about. This is my first time dealing with any of this. A food pantry near me has evening hours. What else is out there?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
