I want to share what helped me after being laid off as an operations analyst in Chicago. It has been a long 21 weeks. The library had résumé help and free computer time. Any other programmes worth trying?

Call 211 to hear about local help with food, rent and utilities. It is free and open at all hours.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
