Does anyone have tips for local transport to interviews? - what worked for you?

I do not have a car and interviews in St. Louis are spread around. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I can walk part of the way. What do you use?

Some workforce centres hand out bus tokens for interviews. Ask at the desk.
