Does anyone have tips for local transport to interviews? - what worked for you?

I need a cheap way to get to several appointments. It has been weighing on me all week. I can walk part of the way.

I planned routes the night before with a trip planner and left twenty minutes early.

Some workforce centres hand out bus tokens for interviews. Ask at the desk.
