Does anyone have tips for local transport to interviews? - what worked for you?

The bus takes almost an hour to reach the places hiring as a software tester. Thank you in advance. I can walk part of the way. Are there discounted passes?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
