Does anyone have tips for local transport to interviews? - what worked for you?

The bus takes almost an hour to reach the places hiring as an electrician's helper. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I can walk part of the way. What do you use?

Our transit agency has a reduced-fare pass for people with low income. The application took a week.

Some workforce centres hand out bus tokens for interviews. Ask at the desk.
