Does anyone have tips for local transport to interviews? - what worked for you?

I need a cheap way to get to several appointments. I worked as an IT help-desk technician before this. I do not want to be late. Are there discounted passes?

Our transit agency has a reduced-fare pass for people with low income. The application took a week.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
