Does anyone have tips for local transport to interviews? (update)

The bus takes almost an hour to reach the places hiring as a recruiter. I worked as a recruiter before this. Some employers are off the main lines. What do you use?

Some workforce centres hand out bus tokens for interviews. Ask at the desk.
