Does anyone have tips for local transport to interviews? (update)

I need a cheap way to get to several appointments. Some employers are off the main lines. What do you use?

Our transit agency has a reduced-fare pass for people with low income. The application took a week.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
